Sweet Chickadee is the creative endeavor of Margaret Martin Hood, an artist with deep roots in Ohio who now calls Lincolnton home. Margaret has been passionate about art since she could hold a crayon, and her talent was nurtured by encouraging teachers throughout her early years. She studied fine art at Pensacola Christian College before transitioning to graphic arts and art education at Youngstown University.

Over the years, Margaret has shared her love of art by teaching young people, some of whom have gone on to pursue their own artistic dreams. Working out of her home studio, Margaret continues to teach students of all ages and hosts engaging paint-and-sip events. Her preferred medium is acrylics, but she also enjoys working with watercolors, pen and ink, and even dabbles in sculpture.

Margaret credits God for her artistic gifts and strives to glorify Him in all her work. With Sweet Chickadee, she brings her passion, creativity, and a welcoming spirit to every piece she creates and every student she teaches.
