I am a full-time United Methodist Pastor, serving two churches in Lexington, NC. My hobby/passion is stained glass art. My wife merged my two passions and nicknamed me The Stain’d Pastor. It’s stuck!
We are all stained by sin, and yet, it’s still possible for God’s light to shine through us in a beautiful way. Check out Matthew 5:14-16 in the Bible. I love taking old windows and lanterns and replacing the old, cracked glass and putting in beautiful stained glass art. It’s a series to which I am always adding called, “New Light, New Life.”
While I do repeat some designs, each piece is unique, number 1 of 1. I pray over them as I’m crafting the glass by hand – cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and waxing with care. Each piece undergoes a ten-step process until completion. My prayer is that each piece will bring joy, remind us of God’s love, and bring us closer to God’s heart. I love seeing that prayer answered!
Glass supplies are expensive with some glass priced as much as $100/square foot! Copper foil and solder, needed to create any stained glass project, has tripled in price in the last few years. I work to keep my prices appropriate to the materials that go into them.
I am open for commission work. I will give you a design and price before we begin.
