Our Story

Welcome to The Graceful Geese Mercantile. We are Angie and Ray McGinnis, the proud founders of this vibrant marketplace. In September 2023, after Ray concluded a fulfilling 34-year career with Corning Corporation at 58, we were inspired to channel our passion for antique picking into something larger that could grow with us into retirement.

Our Vision

Our quest for a venue to display and sell our beloved collection led us through six counties, culminating in a moment of inspiration that struck one chilly February morning in 2024. Guided by deep reflection and prayer, we envisioned a unique Artisan and Antique Store where local artisans could thrive without the burdens of high overhead costs and direct competition. This vision quickly turned into reality as we established our LLC, crafted our logo, secured a prime location, and welcomed vendors, opening our doors on April 1, 2024.

Spanning 17,000 square feet, our showroom now hosts over 100 vendor booths. It’s not just a marketplace but a community where artists and visitors come together to share and celebrate creativity. The name “The Graceful Geese Mercantile” holds special significance. The communal and supportive nature of geese resonates deeply with us, reflecting our ethos of collaboration. Moreover, geese have a personal connection for me, Angie, as they remind me of my father, who passed when I was 40. He loved geese, and their presence in my life has always been a comforting reminder of his spirit and teachings.

Our logo bears the scriptural promise found at Matthew 7:7, “Ask and you shall receive,” a testament to the faith that has fueled our journey. We believe in the grace that has been bestowed upon us and the powerful community we’ve built together. At The Graceful Geese Mercantile, we encourage everyone to embrace the potential of their dreams: We have a Big God, so pray BIG! Join us in a place where creativity thrives and each visit is an opportunity to discover something wonderful.
