In 2020 my daughter’s friends were having a baby shower for her. She wanted to get them each a hostess gift from a popular retail store. She asked if I would help her pay for 6 oyster shell ring dishes at $48 each. I figured out I could make and sell them for half that amount. So M.F.’s Designs began. I create ornaments, ring and trinket dishes, soap dishes, nativities, and various decorative items using shells, driftwood, and old barn wood. Most of the shells are decoupaged with a few being hand painted. The shells are sourced from the NC coast, Maine coast, Florida, and some from Mexico and Asia. I will gladly do custom orders. Some custom ornaments I have made are of pets, children, wedding invitations, and homes. My husband and I live in Hickory. We have two daughters and three precious grandchildren.
