I am Laura Rabon, a self-taught artist from the Morganton area. I love the intricacy and variety of flowers. Each completed piece is a one-of-a-kind treasure, because each flower is unique. My botanical jewelry, tins and trinket bowls are created with wood, resin and natural materials. Many of the flowers and leaves are locally sourced. I pick and press individual blossoms and apply at least four coats of resin to each completed piece. The resin is applied freehand. Creating with resin preserves the design, pattern and color of outdoor materials. My goal is to motivate people to look at the world more carefully and find beauty in unexpected places.
